It just takes one spark near the proper tinder to set a wildfire. That tinder is Reneta who is in charge of the History Committee. She proposed the bright spark idea to have a garage sale to fund the gym renovation project at Clare Oaks Senior Living. The tinder was Maureen, the energetic organizer of Clare's Attic, the name given to the funding project, which is no ordinary garage sale that is planned for June 3rd from 9 am until 4 pm. Items include furniture and other estate items as well as clothing, housewares, Christmas decorations, electronics, books, jewelry, craft items, and games.
All the money raised from the garage sale will be used to fund the renovation of a gym into a multi-purpose room for the residents. This undertaking community residents is the first in a series of fundraisers to mark the Community’s upcoming 10th Anniversary in 2018. The Clare Oaks Continuing Care Community building was originally a children's school.
Activities planned for the new multi-purpose room include school performances, musical events, and group meetings will fill the new room. Residents want to raise $10,000 towards the project. Maureen's goal is $15,000. If you talk to Maureen about the goal, you will walk away confident that this is attainable. She has already sold some of the donations on eBay and raised $2,000 for the cause a month before the actual sale.
